No keyframing needed: find your song's tempo with any free BPM calculator and type it into Changes.Per.Minute. Use half or double the tempo for slower or faster pulses.

Shape each pulse with four wave patterns. Shift when it starts, flip its timing or add random variation, and stack several effects on one clip for your own looks.

Optional: tap M on the beat while the music plays to add markers, and cut on them.
