How to install FCPeffects plugins in Final Cut Pro

Installing takes a couple minutes

Just double-click the installer. It only takes a couple minutes, and you’ll find it in the My FCPeffects sections: effects in the Effects browser, transitions in the Transitions browser, and titles in the Titles and Generators sidebar. Drag it onto your clip like any built-in effect.

Your download link is on your order confirmation page and in your email, and your plugins are always in your account. You don’t need Apple Motion.

Download again or set up a new Mac

Log in to your account and click the download link at the top. First time? Set up your account with the email you ordered with. Ordered with more than one email? Just ask us and we’ll combine them.

You can install your plugins on any Mac you own that’s signed in to your Apple account (up to 5). To get the latest version of a plugin, download it again and double-click the installer.

A few plugins come with a bonus step

• VCR Plugin: install the included font first (double-click it, then click Install Font).
• Social Media Plugin: enter your Mac password when the installer asks. That adds its export presets.
• Organic Light Leaks and Anamorphic Lens Flares: these include overlay clips you place above your footage. Directions come with your download.

If you can’t find your plugin

• Look in the My FCPeffects section of the right browser, and clear the search field at the bottom of the browser.
• See a “Missing Plug-In” message? Download the latest version from your account, double-click the installer, and install it on any Mac that opens the project.

Uninstall a plugin

Quit Final Cut Pro, then in your Movies folder open Motion Templates and delete the plugin’s folder inside My FCPeffects.
