Cartoon effect for Final Cut Pro

Overview

Cartooner turns ordinary footage into a hand-drawn cartoon look in Final Cut Pro in just a few seconds.

Start from one of over 30 presets, then tweak the toon, trace, paper, diffusion and posterize settings to suit your footage. The Adjust Frame Rate effect lowers the frame rate for a classic cartoon feel.

Features

Over 30 presets to start from, all fully adjustable.
Toon and trace: Toon.Amount, Trace.Amount, Trace.Threshold, ink color and trace blur.
Paper: a paper layer with its own opacity and color, to use with the trace settings.
Color: global brightness, contrast, saturation and hue, plus Posterize.Levels.
Diffusion and overlays: a diffuse look, and blend modes for the halftone and hatched overlays.
Adjust Frame Rate: lower the frame rate, like many cartoons.

How to use

In the Effects browser sidebar, click My FCPeffects, then Cartooner (show the sidebar if it's hidden).
Drag a preset onto your clip.
In the Inspector, tweak Toon.Amount, Trace.Amount and Trace.Threshold for your footage.
Adjust color with the Global controls and Posterize.Levels.
Optional: add Adjust Frame Rate for a lower frame rate.
